“Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before Him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon His name.”

Malachi 3:16

Who Is He That Forgiveth Sins?

“I am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; And I will not remember your sins…”.

Isaiah 43:25

Ever feel that you’ve committed an act that was inexcusable? That no matter how many times you apologize you feel that it’s just not enough? You are not alone! We all make mistakes. It is a way of life. You may commit an act that some may think is unforgiveable and that people may never forget but there is one person who you can turn to who forgives and forgets.

Who is He who forgives and forgets?
It is Jesus who forgives and forgets (Isaiah 43:25,26). Jesus “who being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God; but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross” (Philippians 2:6-8). Thru Jesus Christ (because of His death on the cross) our sins are forgiven (Ephesians 1:7).

How do we receive His forgiveness?
We must first acknowledge our sins…. The first step to solving any problem is to admit that there is a problem. We are all sinners; “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” Romans 3v23. We are fooling ourselves if we think otherwise (1 John 1:8,10). There is no such thing as a little sin or a BIG sin; if you break even one of the commandments, you are just as guilty as someone who has broken them all (James 2v10)!

In order to receive His forgiveness we must believe in Him (John 3:16). For you see, Jesus is not like others who must hear the accounts of an eyewitness; for He sees all (Psalm 139:7-12, Jeremiah 23:24)! Jesus is also someone you cannot lie to for He knows the desires of your hearts (1 Samuel 16:7, 1 Chronicle 28v9)!

When you have acknowledged your sin and believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and He has the power to heal and forgive; your next step is to repent.

Repentance
Humble yourself to Him…The Lord is good and glad to teach the proper path to those who go astray; He will teach the way that is right and best to all those who humbly turn to Him. When you obey Him the path that He leads you through is filled with mercy and truth (Psalm 25:8-10).

God gives special blessing to those who are humble but sets Himself against those who are proud. If you humble yourself under the mighty hand of God in His good time He will lift you up (2 Peter 5:5,6)!

Pray! Whatever you ask for while you are praying, believe you will receive it and you will have it! While you are praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him or her that God may also forgive you too (Mark 11:24-26)!!

Pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17); God will surely give justice to His people who cry out to Him day and night (Luke 18:1-8).

Seek the Lord and you will find Him if you search for Him with all your heart and with all your soul (Deuteronomy 4:29).

“For the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23); therefore turn from your evil ways. If you think it over and decide to turn from your wicked ways and obey ALL God’s laws and do right, you shall live (Ezekiel 18:27,28)!

When you humble yourself, pray, seek God’s face, and turn from your wicked ways then the Lord will hear you and forgive your sins (2 Chronicles 7:14)! For God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9, Ezekiel 33:11, 18:32).
