Weekly Reminder...The Weekly Reminder is an informative tool to help people who read it consider what the man of God has said. This weekend’s articles are based on what was heard on Feburary 6 & 7, 2010 in the Westbury assembly.

The scripture says, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). Other than the Lord’s Prayer, this may be the most quoted scripture ever. Quoted by many yet not many understand it. Those that are to inherit eternal life their belief in Christ must surpass the knowledge of His existence and who He is.
James said, “Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble” (James 2:19). We believe just like the devils that the Lord exists but we know the future of the devil (Revelation 20:10; 21:8). The devils also know who He is (Mark 1:23-25; Acts 19:13-15) but their fate they can not escape. John tells us that, “He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself” (1 John 5:10). This witness is Christ abiding in you for Jesus said, “If a man love Me, he will keep My words: and My Father will love him, and We will come unto him, and make Our abode with him” (John 14:23). That is the difference between those destined for eternal life and those destined for eternal damnation; Christ must abide in us. “He that saith he abideth in Him ought himself also so to walk, even as He walked” (1 John 2:6).
Paul said, “As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in Him: rooted and built up in Him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught” (Colossians 2:6-7). It is the teachings received from a true man of God, when practiced will keep you in the Lord for it is profitable for our instruction in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16). Jesus will be coming back for His church and since the church is considered Christ’s body we should be just like Him (Ephesians 5:23-27) “for in Him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily” (Colossians 2:9). Therefore our belief in Jesus must exceed the belief of the world we must abide in Jesus because “he that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life” (1 John 5:12).
